Auto Lok Double Slotted Nuts

The design of the double slotted nut parallels that of the widely adopted industrial nut, with its locking function facilitated by a slotted collar or turret section positioned above the hexagon. While both types of nuts feature two slots, the double slotted nut uniquely positions these slots one directly above the other. This configuration allows the metal above the slots to deform slightly, engaging with the bolt threads so that, when tightened, the nut grips the thread flank at the optimal point, ensuring robust thrust resistance.

Distinctive features of the double slotted nut include a lower prevailing torque compared to conventional industrial nuts, along with high re-usability. Moreover, the nut can be fitted to a male thread with the locking element oriented end first, providing versatile application.

This all-metal nut is engineered for efficacy in both high and low temperature conditions, with its locking performance remaining impervious to the presence of oil, petrol, or other liquids and vapors. It is designed for easy assembly using hand or power tools and can lock effectively whether it is secured against a face or left unsupported.

Standard finishes for the double slotted nut include zinc and chromate passivation or self-color for metric threads, and zinc or self-color for other threads. For specific requirements, special grades of material, finish, and design can be produced, subject to minimum manufacturing quantities.
